About SVIT
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT), Vasad, was established in 1997 by the New English School Trust (NEST) with a vision to impart quality technical education. Named after the Iron Man of India — Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the institute has grown into a premier engineering and management institution in Gujarat, affiliated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and approved by AICTE.
History, Vision & Mission
The New English School Trust (NEST), after careful deliberation, decided to establish a self-financed degree engineering college to serve the region. The Trust named the college after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the great leader who hailed from this area — as a tribute to his legacy.
- 1997SVIT established — B.E. Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments started with AICTE approval and Gujarat University affiliation.
- 1998B.E. Computer Engineering, Information Technology and the MCA programme incorporated at SVIT.
- 1999Introduced B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering.
- 2000B.E. Aeronautical Engineering department established at SVIT.
- 2007NBA accreditation of the Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments.
- 2009NBA accreditation of the Computer, IT and Electronics & Communication Engineering departments.
- 2010M.E. programmes in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering started.
- 2012M.E. programmes in Computer, IT and Electronics & Communication Engineering started.
- 2018Vocational (Diploma and Bachelors) courses started at SVIT.
- 2022B.E. Computer Science and Design programme initiated.
- 2023NBA accreditation of B.E. Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
- 2024Diploma and MCA programmes started at SVIT
- 2026BBA programme introduced at SVIT.
